R. David Sweet

David earned degrees in Finance and Management from Florida State University in 1990 before shifting from capital finance to the restoration insurance industry as an independent all-lines adjuster. After five years, he founded a full-service restoration firm, became a Certified General Contractor in Florida, and earned multiple designations through the IICRC, RIA, and ACAC while serving on various certification boards.

With over 25 years as a CEO, large-loss consultant, expert witness, umpire, appraiser, trainer, and Standards advocate, he remains committed to elevating industry standards and refocusing on policyholder care. Passionate about ethical, data-driven claims handling, he continues to train and mentor restoration professionals, striving to leave a legacy of excellence. He often preaches "Do the right thing. Even whens it's hard".

With over 20 years of experience, David Herring is a recognized authority in appraisal, umpire services, and dispute resolution. As the founder of RiseDocument Inc., he has helped public adjusters, attorneys, and contractors successfully navigate complex claims with efficiency and expertise.

David’s deep understanding of valuation disputes, expert witness testimony, and strategic negotiations allows him to deliver clear, defensible solutions in high-stakes cases. His expertise spans litigation support, policy analysis, and structured dispute resolution, ensuring fair and well-documented outcomes for all parties involved.

Daily Pre-Paid Parking Passes

Every ticket, per order, includes a complimentary, daily pre-paid parking pass (one per vehicle) for the event’s duration (March 25th-28th, Tues-Fri. 9am-4:30pm ET)

Passes are distributed in person at the 717 Lot entrance at the Corner of E. Whiting St, and S. Nebraska Ave. by a parking attendant, rain or shine. Distribution hours are Tuesday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.

  • Pass Collection: Parking passes will not be emailed. They must be collected in person at the lot entrance each morning.
  • Extended Parking Hours: To park before 7:30 AM or leave your vehicle in the lot after 5:00 PM, you must reserve a spot using the pay station or app to avoid towing.
  • Even if you don’t require a daily parking pass, passes are still available with your ticket(s) for the event’s duration.

FAQ's

What is your return policy?

In the event you need to cancel your order/tickets, you can request a refund up to 3 days before the registration deadline on March 19th. If you request a refund past the registration deadline, we can issue an event credit applied to future events; your order is non-refundable. Refund requests submitted after the event has concluded will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to reach a reasonable settlement.

Can I attend online?

This event is in-person only and does not offer a virtual attendance option. To fully participate and take advantage of everything we have planned, we encourage you to join us at the venue. We look forward to seeing you there!

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else if I can’t attend?

If you're unable to attend, you have the option to transfer your ticket to someone else or request a refund before the event registration deadline. After the deadline, all refund requests will be processed following the event.

Are there any COVID-19 safety measures or requirements?

At this moment in time, there are no restrictions or protocols in place for COVID. You are more than welcome to wear any coverings for your comfort. If you are sick, please stay home. If you begin to feel sick on site, please attempt to isolate yourself and seek medical attention immediately.

Will There Be WIFI At The Venue?

Yes. There are also charging stations positioned at every table for your devices / electronics.

How Can I Provide Feedback About The Event?

We encourage you to share your experiences on social media before, during, and the conclusion of the event.

Is This Event Online?

This event will be held exclusively in person to ensure a fully immersive experience.

Can You Provide Accommodation for Disabilities?

We can accommodate various disabilities and restrictions to the best of our ability! Please let us know if you have a specific request.

How Can I Turn This into a Mini Vaca?

If you’re extending your trip for leisure, the beach is just a short drive or bridge away (weather permitting). Don’t forget to pack sunscreen, a bathing suit, and towels if you plan to enjoy the water.

What Materials Will I Receive?

You will receive a copy of all templates & teaching materials concluding the class. There are no additional materials to be purchased. You will also gain access to both experts and their respective networks as a courtesy of attendance.

What's The Dress Code?

Dress in business casual attire and avoid open-toe shoes. We recommend dressing in light layers and bringing a jacket for transitioning between different temperatures.

Are Payment Plans Available?

Please bring the most current IICRC Standards (S500 and S520) in print or digital format. If you haven't purchased the standards, you can retrieve them at iicrc.org.

Electronics & Writing Utensils

We accommodate both paper-based and tech-savvy attendees. Bring your iPads, cell phones, laptops, or any other devices to support your workflow throughout the week. Each table is equipped with outlets for charging. Additionally, bring notebooks, highlighters, and writing utensils based on your learning preferences.

Umbrella / Rain Poncho

Florida weather can be unpredictable! Be prepared with an umbrella or poncho for any rainy days during your time on foot.
